We are seeking a motivated and reliable Survey Crew Technician to support field surveying operations. This role involves collecting accurate field data using modern survey equipment and working closely with office staff to ensure high-quality deliverables.
This position is open to a range of experience levels, from entry-level technicians to more experienced field personnel. Responsibilities and independence will scale with experience and demonstrated capability.
Position Overview
As a Survey Crew Technician, you will assist in performing a variety of field surveys and gathering data used for engineering and design. You will play a key role in ensuring accuracy and efficiency in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with field data collection for:
- Boundary and Topographic Surveys
- Construction Layout & Staking
- Operate survey equipment including GPS, total stations, and data collectors
- Support terrestrial LiDAR and UAV/drone survey operations (as applicable)
- Record accurate field notes and measurements
- Follow instructions from survey crew chief and project managers
- Maintain and care for survey equipment
- Assist with basic data transfer and communication with office staff
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- 0–3 years of field survey experience preferred
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with survey equipment (Trimble, Leica, or similar)
- Basic understanding of surveying principles
- Ability to read plans and maps (preferred)
Soft Skills
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Attention to detail and willingness to learn
Pay: $20.00 - $26.00 per hour
