What are the responsibilities and job description for the Skill Building Provider position at Alleghany Highlands Community Services?
Provides Mental Health Skill Building Services to individuals with serious mental illness to support community stability, independence, and successful functioning in the least restrictive environment. Provides individualized training, coaching, support, and transportation to help individuals develop and maintain skills related to health and safety, personal care, activities of daily living, medication management, community integration, and use of community resources. Services are provided in accordance with each individual's service plan, applicable regulatory requirements, and agency policies.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Services field (Required)
- Minimum 1 year experience in providing behavioral health services to individuals with mental health, intellectual disabilities, and/or substance use issues (preferred)
- QMHP or eligible to obtain QMHP-T certification (Required)
- Valid Driver's License (required)

- Community resources, benefits, transportation, housing, and other supports that promote community stability and independence.
- Individual rights, confidentiality, professional boundaries, and applicable documentation and regulatory requirements.
Skills in:
- Assessing individual strengths, needs, progress, and barriers to independent living.
- Teaching and reinforcing daily living, health and safety, medication-management, social, and community-integration skills
- Coordinating services with individuals served, families, agency staff, providers, and community partners
- Clear oral and written communication, accurate documentation, organization, and time management
Ability to:
- Establish effective professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries
- Work independently in office, home, and community settings and maintain a flexible schedule based on service needs
- Protect confidential information and complete required records accurately within established timeframes
- Plan and coordinate activities that support each individual's service plan and identified goals
