Position Overview:
The Dental Business Assistant plays a key role in delivering a smooth and positive experience for every patient. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, professional, and able to manage a variety of administrative and front-office responsibilities with confidence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Warmly greet and check in/out patients
- Manage phones, schedule appointments, and confirm upcoming visits
- Verify insurance benefits and submit/track claims
- Process payments and maintain accurate patient accounts
- Maintain a tidy, welcoming front-office environment
- Communicate effectively with patients, clinical staff, and providers
- Support daily office operations and workflow efficiency
- Protect patient confidentiality and follow all HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in a dental or medical front office required
- Proficiency with dental practice management software (Dentrix experience preferred)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to multitask in a busy environment
- Solid understanding of insurance verification and claims
- Professional, friendly, and reliable demeanor
- High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities
- Manage patient intake, including verifying insurance coverage and performing insurance verification
- Review and update medical and dental records ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Schedule appointments and manage front desk operations using multi-line phone systems and office management software
- Perform administrative duties including filing, data entry , and maintaining patient files
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering questions, explaining treatment plans, and ensuring a positive experience
- Assist with care plan documentation review and ensure accurate documentation of procedures performed
Experience
Prior clinic or dental office experience is preferred, especially in roles involving medical administrative support or front desk responsibilities
- Knowledge of dental terminology
- Experience working with health information management systems and insurance verification processes is advantageous
- Excellent patient service skills with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a healthcare setting are necessary
