HEAD VARSITY BASKETBALL COACH - GIRLS
SUMMARY: Development of the entire basketball program with emphasis on fundamentals and teamwork.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement training programs tailored to meet basketball skills.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to athletes to enhance their skills and performance.
- Organize and oversee team practices, competitions, and events.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during training sessions and events.
- Collaborate with other coaches to create a cohesive coaching environment.
- Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback for improvement.
- Other duties are requested by the athletic director.
- Involvement in developing a district wide basketball program that serves the community of Allegan
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Previous experience in coaching or participating in basketball activities.
- Strong background in athletic development or related fields.
- Experience working with students of various ages and skill levels.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to motivate and inspire athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting to achieve common goals.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for long periods of time and must manually move, lift, carry, pull or push heavy objects or materials. There is stooping, bending, and reaching. The employee will often be in a number of different schools and basketball facilities in the area.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Seasonal (November - February) for the 2026-2027 school year.
SALARY: Based on years of experience
LOCATION: Allegan High School
