Overview
We are seeking motivated individuals for multiple positions for the upcoming 2026 Allegan County Fair. Available positions include Front Office Staff, Ushers, Backstage Crew, Night Grounds Crew, Parking Attendants, and Gate workers. This year's fair dates are September 11th-19th. These positions are part-time, and if hired, you may not be scheduled to work every day of the fair. Fair is fast approaching, and interested applicants should apply now.
Duties
- Front Office Staff will welcome guests at the front desk, answer phones, accept payments, sell passes, assist vendors, and perform some light computer entry and more with a friendly, professional attitude.
- As an Usher, you will assist guests and show them to their designated areas efficiently and courteously. Scan tickets and assist spectators through metal detectors at the grandstand entrance. May need to help set up chairs before shows.
- Backstage Crew helps support backstage operations by assisting with physical setup and teardown of concert eqipment for concerts.
- On the Night Grounds Crew, you will help maintain the cleanliness of the fairgrounds, ensuring the midway is swept, grandstands cleaned, and trash is emptied each night.
- Parking Attendants manage parking lots by directing vehicles, ensuring smooth traffic flow, and assisting guests with parking needs
- Gate Workers control access points at gates by verifying entry tickets or credentials and accepting admission.
Qualifications
- Front Office Staff-Must have excellent organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to multitask efficiently under pressure, and have strong customer service skills. Must be available to start immediately. Previous office experience helpful but not required.
- Backstage Crew- Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks, including loading, unloading, and setting up concert equipment safely. Able to handle outdoor work conditions in various weather. Schedule will vary based on operational needs. Availability for a full day shift is required.
- Gate Workers-Must have the ability to handle cash transactions accurately; basic math skills are essential. Must be able to do some light computer entry. Knowledge of conflict management techniques and first aid/CPR certification preferred for safety assurance
- Night Grounds Crew- Must be comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Knowledge and experience operating a pressure washer is helpful.
- Parking Attendants- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods.
Pay: $13.73 per hour
