Job Overview
We are seeking a detailed-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join our team. Duties
- Process and submit medical claims to insurance companies using appropriate coding systems including CPT, ICD-9, and ICD-10.
- Review patient records for accuracy and completeness prior to billing.
- Utilize EMR and EHR systems to manage patient information and billing records effectively.
- Conduct medical collections by following up on unpaid claims and resolving discrepancies with insurance providers.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any issues related to billing or coding discrepancies.
- Prepare reports on billing activities, collections, and outstanding claims for management review.
- Complete preauthorizations as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is essential.
- Familiarity with EMR and EHR systems is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with healthcare professionals and insurance representatives.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Knowledge of medical records management practices is beneficial.
