Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Peer Specialist to join our team. As a Certified Peer Specialist, you will provide support and guidance to individuals facing mental health challenges by sharing your own lived experiences.
Duties:
- Utilize your personal journey to inspire hope and promote recovery in individuals
- Offer peer support services in a non-judgmental and empathetic manner
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to develop individualized care plans
- Conduct one-on-one counseling sessions using motivational interviewing techniques
- Assist individuals in navigating the mental health system and accessing community resources
- Provide mentorship and encouragement to help individuals achieve their recovery goals
- Utilize crisis intervention skills to de-escalate challenging situations
Requirements:
- Certification as a Peer Specialist
- Strong background in social work, mental health counseling, or related field
- Proficiency in motivational interviewing and crisis management techniques
- Experience in mentoring or supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges
- Knowledge of addiction counseling principles is beneficial
- Ability to demonstrate empathy, patience, and understanding in all interactions
