Duties
- Perform detailed diagnostics on small engines and equipment using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical inspection techniques
- Repair and overhaul small engines, including carburetor adjustments, ignition systems, and fuel systems
- Conduct electrical work such as wiring repairs, soldering, and electrical system troubleshooting on various equipment
- Maintain and service power generation systems, generators, and heavy-duty equipment to ensure reliable operation
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently
- Follow safety protocols during manual handling, heavy lifting, and equipment maintenance procedures
- Document all repairs accurately in service records and communicate findings clearly to customers or team members
Experience
- Proven dealership experience or service technician background with small engine repair or automotive repair is highly preferred
- Strong mechanical knowledge of engines, electrical systems, and power generation equipment
- Experience reading schematics, electrical diagrams, and technical manuals for troubleshooting complex issues
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic instruments
- Familiarity with Caterpillar or similar heavy machinery brands is advantageous
- Demonstrated ability to perform diesel engine repairs and general vehicle maintenance tasks
- Excellent customer service skills combined with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients
