Duties
- Assist attorneys with case management by organizing and maintaining legal files.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research utilizing Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other research tools to support litigation, transactional work, or regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and proofread legal documents including contracts, pleadings, discovery requests, client correspondence, and procedural filings with precision and attention to detail.
- Support client communication through professional phone etiquette, email correspondence, and scheduled interviews or meetings.
- Manage calendaring of deadlines for court filings, hearings, depositions, and client appointments to ensure timely compliance with procedural law requirements.
- Review documents for accuracy and confidentiality; perform data entry and filing tasks efficiently while maintaining meticulous records.
- Provide administrative support such as transcription, proofreading, preparing reports, handling confidential information securely, and supporting general office operations.
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience or legal administrative experience supporting multiple practice areas including real estate litigation , family law, civil litigation, or related fields.
- Strong knowledge of procedural law and familiarity with various practice areas such as criminal law, personal injury law (including personal injury case experience), landlord-tenant law, immigration law, and general & commercial litigation.
- Proficiency in legal research tools like Westlaw and LexisNexis; experience with document review and case management software.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting legal documents; strong proofreading and transcription abilities are essential.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly while demonstrating professionalism in client communication.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel), Word processing skills, data entry accuracy, and familiarity with document management systems.
- Effective interviewing skills for gathering case information; strong clerical skills including filing and phone etiquette are required.
