Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Veterinary Technician to join our team. The Veterinary Technician will work closely with veterinarians to provide high-quality care to mainly cats and dogs.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including X-rays and laboratory analyses.
- Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
- Monitor and record animal vital signs and behaviors.
- Maintain accurate medical records for each patient.
- Provide education to pet owners on proper care and treatment protocols.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the clinic environment, adhering to aseptic techniques.
- Handle animals safely and compassionately during examinations and treatments.
- Utilize knowledge of dental terminology for dental cleanings and procedures.
Requirements
- Certification or degree in Veterinary Technology from an accredited program.
- Strong knowledge of animal handling techniques.
- Experience with running laboratory tests and maintaining laboratory machines
- Familiarity with dental terminology is a plus.
- Ability to perform X-ray procedures safely and effectively.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with pet owners and team members.
- Ability to make post appointment follow up calls and keep concise notes in the record.
- Willingness to continue learning about advancements in veterinary practices.
- The ability to follow instructions and keep a positive attitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour
