About the Position:
The ideal candidate will have experience with both local and over-the-road (OTR) routes, as well as experience as either a solo driver or a company driver. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods, loading and unloading cargo, and ensuring that all deliveries are made on time. Requirements:Responsibilities:
- Drive a flatbed truck or van to transport goods and materials.
- Maintain records such as vehicle logs, delivery records, and billing statements.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo in a safe and efficient manner with forklifts.
- Ensure that cargo is properly secured in the vehicle.
- Communicate with the Warehouse Manager and other personnel to coordinate pickup and delivery times.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Obeying and following applicable traffic laws.
- Performing daily maintenance of truck (refueling, cleaning, etc).
- Interacting with customers in a professional manner.
License/Certification:
- Valid Driver’s License (required).
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred, but not required).
- 2 years of forklift experience.
- Experience with Bar Stock (preferred but not required).
- Flatbed experience.
- 2 years of warehouse experience.
- 2 years of commercial driving experience (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
