What are the responsibilities and job description for the Paralegal-Medicaid Applications position at Allaire Elder Law, LLC?
Medicaid Department seeking Full Time Paralegal, preferably with experience in Medicaid applications though not required. Legal experience, particularly familiarity with Power of Attorney and real estate deeds, valued but not required. The ideal candidate should have excellent oral and written communication skills and be able to organize their work using tools like MS Word, Adobe, Excel, and office equipment including printer/scanner, postal meter, and a multiline phone system.
Candidate should be professional, well organized, detail oriented and computer savvy. Candidate must be able to work independently as well as be a team player. The position includes preparation of DSS forms, review of financial statements, tracking of assets and assistance to the client coordinating asset protection methods, correspondence with the client and DSS as well as financial institutions.
Medicaid paralegals are puzzle solvers! You have to stick with the project, which can be months long, to get a client approved. You must be meticulous keeping notes and updating spreadsheets to track client records.
Full time work is 37.5 hours/week. Hours are somewhat flexible. Compensation based on experience. A few work from home days per week are offered after training.
