We are looking for a skilled Heavy-Duty Diesel Mechanic to maintain our fleet of waste removal equipment, ensuring our drivers stay safe and our community stays on schedule.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain & Repair: Perform preventative maintenance and major/minor repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and heavy equipment.
- System Diagnostics: Troubleshoot complex electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems using modern diagnostic tools.
- Safety First: Conduct thorough safety inspections and ensure all vehicles comply with OSHA and DOT standards.
- Fleet Support: Address issues from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIRs) and respond to emergency roadside service calls when needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate digital records of repairs, parts usage, and inspections.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: Proven experience as a diesel mechanic, specifically with heavy-duty trucks or heavy equipment.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of hydraulics and electrical systems; welding and fabrication skills are a major plus.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean record is required; a Class A or B CDL (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days) is a major plus.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
- Tools: Must provide your own basic set of hand tools.
Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour
