Description
The Senior Systems Specialist is an individual contributor responsible for the availability, performance, and security of a Microsoft-centric, cloud-first environment. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including identity and access, endpoint and patch lifecycle, M365 services, Azure infrastructure, backups/DR, PKI/certificates, and firewall/VPN services. This individual will partner closely with the Help Desk, Security, Networking, DevOps, Finance, HR, and Compliance, while also supporting audits. This role requires a hybrid presence in one of our U.S. regional offices with strong preference given to candidates located near Kimberton, PA.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Administer Entra ID (Azure AD) and legacy AD components: user/service accounts, groups, SSO/MFA, Conditional Access, and GPO where applicable.
- Own Microsoft 365 services (Exchange Online, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) and licensing.
- Lead endpoint management for Windows and mobile using Intune/Autopilot; enforce compliance baselines and zero-touch provisioning.
- Manage patching across endpoints and servers with Automox and Intune; define schedules and maintenance windows.
- Administer Azure IaaS/PaaS resources and core services (e.g., virtual networks, VMs, storage, key/cert management) consistent with guardrails.
- Operate and continually improve backup/restore and DR for cloud workloads and M365/SaaS as supported; participate in DR/BCP planning and tests.
- Administer PKI/certificates (request, issuance, renewal, inventory) and manage secure configuration of core services (server hardening, CIS).
- Configure and support firewalls/VPN and core network services in partnership with Networking (routing/switching, WiFi).
- Serve as Tier-2/-3 escalation; perform root-cause analysis; create and maintain runbooks and KB articles in Freshservice/SharePoint.
- Execute change management through Freshservice (RFCs, approvals, post-implementation reviews).
- Support vulnerability remediation in partnership with Security; contribute to audit evidence collection for PCI DSS, SOC 2 Type 2, and ISO 27001:2022.
- Assist with M&A integrations.
- Provide light vendor coordination (licensing renewals) and assist with M&A integrations where VMware/Hyper-V experience is beneficial.
- Own or support key SaaS/LoB platforms: Box, Teams, Entra, Azure, Deltek Vantagepoint ERP, and Workato integrations.
- Participate in light after-hours work for system upgrades; maintain flexibility in working hours.

Requirements
Required
- BS in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- 8 years in systems administration or closely related roles.
- Certifications: CompTIA Network , CompTIA Security ; Azure certification or demonstrable Azure expertise.
- Strong experience across Entra ID/Azure AD, M365 administration, Intune/Autopilot, Automox, Azure infrastructure, PKI/certificates, and firewall/VPN concepts.
- Demonstrated competencies: customer service mindset, root-cause analysis, clear written documentation, stakeholder communication, project execution, and incident management.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
- Schedule flexibility for light on-call/after-hours work focused on planned upgrades and maintenance windows.
Preferred
- VMware and/or Hyper-V experience as needed for M&A integrations.
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint ERP and Workato (or similar automation platforms).
- PowerShell proficiency at the intermediate level (task automation, reporting, bulk changes).
- Native/bilingual Spanish speaker for international collaboration with our Madrid and LATAM groups.
- Physical location near our corporate office in Kimberton, PA.
