Crew Foreman for Moving Operations:
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Moving Crew Foreman to join our team at All Ways Moving & Storage Co. The Moving Crew Foreman will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth execution of moving operations, overseeing the moving crew, and providing exceptional customer service throughout the process.
Responsibilities:
- Supervision and Coordination: Directly oversee the moving crew to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and according to company standards. Coordinate with team members to ensure proper loading, transportation, and unloading of belongings.
- Customer Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for customers during the moving process. Communicate with customers to understand their needs and address any questions or concerns they may have. Provide updates on the progress of the move and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Logistics Management: As the Foreman stationed at the job location, your primary responsibility is to conduct thorough walk-throughs of each move. This entails meticulously assessing the logistics of the move, prioritizing items for loading, and orchestrating the packing, loading, and unloading processes with precision. Your role extends to providing comprehensive instructions and guidance to the crew members, ensuring that each step of the move is executed seamlessly and efficiently. Your expertise in understanding the layout of each home and prioritizing items will be critical in ensuring the smooth and organized execution of the entire moving process. coordinating with other team members.
- Driving and Transportation:
Must possess expertise and comprehension of transportation regulations, ensuring strict adherence to promote safety and compliance across all aspects of the moving process.
- Billing and Payment:As the overseer of the billing process, the Foreman assumes the crucial duty of reviewing the bill with the customer. This involves a meticulous examination of the charges outlined in accordance with the Bill of Lading. In the event of discrepancies or inquiries, the Foreman acts as the liaison between the customer and the office, promptly contacting the office to review and rectify any discrepancies. Additionally, upon mutual agreement on the bill, the Foreman proceeds to collect payment from the customer, ensuring a seamless and transparent transaction process.
- Packing and Handling: Foreman holds the critical responsibility of meticulously securing items to prevent any damage during transportation. This entails a thorough understanding of packing techniques and materials. You must ensure that each item is carefully wrapped, cushioned, and arranged within the load to minimize any risk of breakage or shifting during transit. Attention to detail is a must , as you inspect each item, identifying fragile or delicate pieces that require special handling. You are responsible to supervise the packing process, providing guidance and expertise to the crew to guarantee that all items are handled with the utmost care and precision.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Foreman Mover or in a similar supervisory role within the moving industry.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of moving processes, including packing, loading, transportation, and unloading.
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively, providing guidance, instruction, and support as needed.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively communicate with team members and clients.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to quickly address and resolve any issues or challenges that arise during the moving process.
- Experience in packing and loading trucks or containers, ensuring items are properly secured and protected during transportation.
- Clean driving record and valid Massachusetts driver's license, with the ability to operate moving trucks safely and responsibly.
- Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy lifting and other physically demanding tasks associated with the moving process.
- Attention to detail, ensuring that all items are handled with care and that proper procedures are followed to prevent damage.
- Flexibility to work weekends, as needed by the demands of the moving schedule.
