Position Summary
ALL-Ways Engineering is seeking a motivated Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our roadway design team in San Antonio. This role is ideal for early-career engineers looking to build hands-on experience in transportation design and develop technical expertise in roadway projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers and project managers to contribute to a variety of infrastructure projects across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of roadway plans, profiles, cross sections, and design details
- Support geometric design, alignments, and traffic control plan development
- Perform basic design calculations and assist with roadway corridor modeling
- Coordinate with CAD technicians to produce accurate construction documents
- Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and constructability
- Assist with quantity take-offs, cost estimates, and technical reports
- Support responses to agency and client review comments
- Participate in project coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Assist with permitting efforts and construction-phase support as needed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or closely related field
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain within 6 months
- 0–3 years of experience in roadway or transportation design (internship experience acceptable)
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software
- Basic understanding of TxDOT standards and roadway design principles preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and ability to work in a collaborative, team-based environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to traffic control design, drainage, or roadway lighting concepts
- Experience with plan production and drafting standards
- Interest in pursuing Professional Engineer (PE) licensure
