Duties
- Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers in selecting products, offering product demos and detailed information about items
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Stock shelves, organize displays, and ensure merchandise is well-presented and appealing
- Conduct merchandising activities to highlight new or promotional products effectively
- Upsell additional items by recommending complementary products to maximize sales opportunities
- Maintain store cleanliness, organize inventory, and perform regular stocking duties
- Demonstrate excellent phone etiquette when answering inquiries or assisting customers remotely
Skills
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage customers confidently in both English and bilingual settings
- Proven experience with retail sales, cashiering, and POS systems in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of smoking products, accessories, or familiarity with grocery store operations is a plus
- Ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail math calculations
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor
- Ability to demonstrate product demos effectively and educate customers about product features
- Strong merchandising skills to create attractive displays that boost sales opportunities
- Knowledge of phone etiquette and professional communication standards
We are seeking dedicated, hardworking individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers a valuable opportunity to develop your retail and business management skills through hands-on experience and professional growth. This is a part-time position (30 hours or less per week) with the potential to transition into a full-time role. The starting compensation is $17.00 per hour.
