Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), and mechanical equipment.
- Accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
- Perform plumbing tasks related to HVAC systems such as pipe fitting and leak repairs.
- Conduct field service visits to client sites for routine maintenance or urgent repairs on HVAC/R equipment.
- Utilize tools and equipment for mechanical repairs.
- Diagnose system problems using mechanical knowledge and technical skills; recommend solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.
- Maintain detailed service records, reports, and logs of all work performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Operate company vehicles in accordance with safety policies; handle equipment repair tasks including appliance repair and component replacement.
- Assist with HVAC design modifications or upgrades based on client needs or new building codes.
- Support property maintenance efforts by ensuring HVAC systems are functioning optimally to prevent disruptions.
Experience
- Proven experience as an HVAC Service Technician or in a similar field service role.
- Hands-on experience with construction projects involving HVAC installation or renovation is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and HVAC design principles is essential.
- Knowledge of refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Skilled in plumbing, electrical troubleshooting, boiler operation, and appliance repair.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with experience operating diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in the field while maintaining high safety standards.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
