The Opportunity
ASF is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Specialist to support our manufacturing operations across multiple facilities. This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance, reduce risk, and promote a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
This position will require approximately 25% travel to support our out-of-state facilities. Knowledge of environmental and safety best practices in Canada and Mexico is highly desirable as we continue to support operations across North America.

What You’ll Do
· Develop, implement, and maintain EHS policies, procedures, and programs across all facilities.
· Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
· Support alignment with Canadian and Mexican environmental and occupational safety best practices.
· Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, and job hazard analyses.
· Lead incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Develop and deliver safety training for new hires and ongoing employee development.
· Maintain required safety and environmental documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
· Partner with operations leadership to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
· Support environmental compliance efforts including waste management, air emissions, and wastewater oversight as applicable.
· Promote safe work practices including lockout/tagout, machine guarding, hazardous materials handling, ergonomics, and PPE usage.
· Monitor safety metrics and recommend initiatives to reduce injuries and environmental impact.
· Support company quality initiatives and cross-functional improvement teams.
· Travel to facilities as needed to ensure consistency and standardization of EHS practices.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational and compliance success.
What You’ll Bring
· Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or related field preferred.
· 2–4 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations; familiarity with Canadian and Mexican regulations is a strong plus.
· Experience conducting safety audits and leading incident investigations.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to influence and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
· Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
· Professional certifications (ASP, CHST, or similar) are a plus.
