Role Overview
As the Engineering Manager, you will provide executive-level leadership and operational oversight for the Gonzales branch, driving strategic growth while managing a portfolio of coastal and municipal infrastructure projects. This senior role integrates advanced engineering acumen with branch-wide management responsibilities, ensuring seamless delivery of high-impact projects on time, within budget, and to exceptional standards. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, cultivate innovation, and strengthen client partnerships to advance community resilience and environmental stewardship across the Gulf South.
Key Responsibilities
- Team Development & Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and manage a diverse team of engineers, technicians, and support staff, promoting professional advancement, collaboration, and a culture of excellence.
- Project Portfolio Management: Direct the planning, design, and execution of coastal and municipal projects, such as levees, seawalls, flood control systems, and beach restoration, emphasizing resilience, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
- Branch Operations: Oversee all aspects of the Gonzales branch, including resource planning, budgeting, and performance metrics to optimize efficiency and profitability.
- Optimization & Innovation: Champion the adoption of cutting-edge tools like AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS to streamline workflows, enhance project outcomes, and elevate branch-wide performance.
- Strategic Business Growth: Support the pursue of new opportunities, including client acquisition and partnerships, to expand the branch's footprint in the Gulf South region.
- Technical & Regulatory Expertise: Deliver high-level guidance on coastal engineering principles, ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal standards while integrating emerging technologies.
- Stakeholder & Community Relations: Cultivate enduring relationships with clients, municipalities, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders, aligning branch initiatives with broader organizational and environmental objectives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: 15 years of progressive experience in coastal or municipal engineering, with at least 7 years in a management or leadership role overseeing branch or divisional operations and complex project portfolios.
- Technical Expertise: Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, GIS applications, project management software, and financial oversight tools.
- Core Skills: Proven executive leadership, strategic vision, financial acumen, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills to motivate teams, drive growth, and navigate high-stakes stakeholder dynamics.
- Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license required; additional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or leadership preferred.
