Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, anatomy, and the ability to utilize advanced dental technology effectively. Must be able to perform all the functions of a RDA (such as fabricating temporary crowns, coronal polishing, and taking digital x-rays).
Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring they are sterilized and ready for use.
- Take and develop dental imaging, including X-rays, to assist in diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Record and monitor vital signs of patients before, during, and after procedures.
- Utilize Practice Web (similar to Dentrix) software for patient management, appointment scheduling, and record keeping.
- Provide patient education on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Perform 3D scanning as required for specific dental procedures.
- Assist in managing the dental clinic's inventory of supplies and materials.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a RDA (one-year minimum).
- Proficiency in dental terminology and knowledge of anatomy is essential.
- Familiarity with medical coding practices is a plus.
- Experience with prosthodontics and four-handed dentistry techniques is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate medical imaging equipment effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with patients and team members.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new skills and technologies in the dental field.
- Current RDA CPR license required for employment.
