We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, employing four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterile and ready for use.
- Take and develop X-rays, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Record patient medical histories, and other relevant information in electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Dentrix.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-operative care instructions.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of patient information.
- Assist in the management of dental clinic operations, including inventory control and ordering supplies as needed.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment following infection control protocols.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in general dentistry or pediatric dentistry is preferred.
- Proficiency in using EMR systems; familiarity with Dentrix is a plus.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and procedures including prosthodontics, endodontics, and medical imaging techniques such as 3D scanning.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties effectively while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Understanding of medical documentation practices, including medical coding and record keeping.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all ages, including pediatrics.
