Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, energetic Pediatric Registered Nurse or LPN to join our dynamic healthcare team. Duties
- Deliver comprehensive nursing assessments and develop individualized care plans tailored to pediatric patients’ needs.
- Administer medications, including injections and IV infusions, following strict aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Monitor vital signs, perform physical examinations, and evaluate patient responses to treatments across diverse pediatric populations.
- Assist with specialized procedures such as tube feeding, catheterization, suturing, and respiratory support including ventilator management.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams on discharge planning, case management, and long-term care strategies for children with complex medical conditions.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems like Epic or Cerner while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate families on health coaching, medication administration, developmental milestones, and disease management to empower caregivers.
Qualifications
- Valid RN license with current registration in the relevant state or jurisdiction.
- Proven experience working with children in settings such as hospitals, clinics, or home care environments.
- Critical care experience preferred, including ICU or PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit) exposure; Level I or Level II trauma center experience is advantageous.
- Familiarity with pediatric-specific procedures such as ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), ICD-10/ICD-9 coding systems, and laboratory specimen collection/processing.
- Knowledge of pediatric physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology essential for accurate patient assessment and medication administration.
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks; experience with medical documentation standards is a plus.
- Strong skills in infection control practices, airway management, pain management strategies, and emergency response protocols including basic life support (BLS).
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental delays; experience in behavioral health or geriatrics is beneficial but not required.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments, patient education, and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams.
