What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd Shift Team Lead position at ALL SERVICE PLASTIC MOLDING?
Position Summary
Provides leadership to the team, coordinates workloads, monitors and resolves issues, and provides support to that the team to ensure production targets, Key Performance Indicators (KPSs), and quality standards are met in order to meet the requirements of the customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Complete daily change of shift rounds with previous Cell Leader.
- Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
- Review production orders and plan production operations. establish priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
- Ensures products are in accordance with customer specified requirements.
- Reports on the effectiveness and performance of production activities to the Manufacturing Manager.
- Continued focus on Quality, Reliability, Scrap and Safety goal are maintained at all time.
- Resolves machinery and quality problems in the production area.
- Monitors changeovers, productivity, scrap, and startups.
- Organizes, assigns, and ensures the staffing of personnel according to production schedule.
- Inspects line set-ups and continuously monitors operations and supplies.
- Follows and enforces company work rules, safety rules, policies and standards and activities.
- Controls costs in areas of quality, efficiency, downtime, and scrap and turnover.
- Completes all mandatory logs and reports.
- Works with technical training team to ensure all technicians are trained and qualified to perform job responsibilities.
- Tracks and controls overtime.
- Works with Human Resources to maintain staffing requirements.
- Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
- Resolve high level MRP Inventory Usage Issues.
- Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
- Completes inventory weekly for assigned Cell
- Supervises Shift Leaders in the performance of payroll duties to ensure accurate time keeping and payroll.
- Works closely with Shift Leaders to monitor and address attendance, performance, and disciplinary issues of all team members in a timely manner.
- Mentors and develops Shift Leaders.
- Actively engages with all team members in assigned Cell.
- Support and contribute to building a culture of leadership.
- Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
- Maintains time and production reports.
- Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.
Essential Qualifications
- Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- 2 – 5 years’ related experience and/or training or the equivalent combination of education and experience as a Team Leader in a production environment, preferably in plastics manufacturing.
- Comfort in relating to all levels of management and diversity of personalities.
- Advanced attention to detail and accuracy in all work.
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing to a wide range of audiences.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour
