Job Summary
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Janitor to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring our space remains spotless and well-maintained, contributing to a positive experience for all visitors and staff. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and facilities maintenance, with an emphasis on quality and consistency.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all areas, including floors, restrooms, offices, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
- Conduct floor care tasks such as buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing to maintain a professional appearance
- Handle custodial responsibilities including trash removal, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitation of surfaces
- Assist with industrial or commercial cleaning projects as needed, ensuring high standards of cleanliness are met
- Support facilities maintenance activities such as minor repairs or reporting issues requiring specialized attention
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition and ensure supplies are stocked and organized
- Follow safety protocols during all cleaning and maintenance tasks to ensure a secure environment for everyone
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or residential settings preferred
- Knowledge of floor care techniques including buffing, stripping, waxing, and polishing
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and climbing ladders if necessary
- Reliable work ethic with the ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Prior experience in residential painting or porter roles is advantageous but not required
- Reliable transportation
