Job Description
As Facilities Staff at All Saints' Episcopal School, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the school's physical infrastructure and grounds. Your dedication, teamwork, and commitment to creating a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment will contribute to a positive atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in setup for school events and meetings or as needed.
- Assists with monitoring facilities supplies and inventory.
- Performs regular preventive maintenance and cleaning of equipment used; makes repairs within the scope of abilities.
- Responds to and takes appropriate actions in the event of emergency or critical incidents to resolve, confine or prevent potentially injurious or hazardous conditions.
- Performs building maintenance and repairs, as required.
- Performs minor repairs, cleanup, and worksite restoration activities, i.e., picking up litter, disposing of waste and debris, and cleaning surfaces.
- Performs package delivery to designated locations on campus.
- Performs structural maintenance activities, i.e., painting interior or exterior walls, playground, and field equipment, repairing fences and gates.
- Performs repairs and replacement of doorknobs or locks, repairs door closures, or patches holes in walls.
- Operates various electric, gas and manually powered tools and equipment.
- Performs routine electrical repairs that include changing light bulbs, fluorescent lamps, and assists in repairing ballast and light fixtures.
- Performs routine plumbing repairs that include unstopping toilets, sinks or urinals, fixing water faucet leaks, and water fountains.
- Assists troubleshooting routine maintenance problems.
- Other duties as required or requested
- Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with all constituents in a school environment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, safety practices, and recognizing hazards.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 2 years as a full-time facility maintenance worker.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to work overtime.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and follow instructions.
- Knowledge of OSHA requirements and willingness to learn new skills.
- Proactive problem-solving and resolution.
- Clean driving record and visual acuity.
- Ability to lift and move up to 75lbs.
- Tolerate moderate noise levels and various odors.
- Climb and work on ladders, crawl under counters, and work in various conditions.
- Use hands and fingers to operate tools.
