What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at All Saints Catholic Church & School?
Overview: Assist Kitchen Supervisor in planning and preparing nutritious and tasty meals for the school children and staff. Support the parish mission by supporting church hospitality and specified outreach events. Approximate hours 7am-2pm Monday- Friday ***This is a 10 months per year position. No or limited work during summer and limited time on winter/spring breaks.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook nutritious meals and snacks for children, adhering to state guidelines.
- Monitor food inventory and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Be comfortable catering to various dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, following health and safety regulations.
- Engage with children during mealtimes to foster a positive dining atmosphere.
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must be able to stoop, bend, lift up to 60lbs. and stand up to 95% of the day.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
- Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.
- Must pass a background check and comply with health and safety regulations.
- Complete required number of hours in staff development activities, in-service training and workshops per year.
Preferred but not required:
- Food Safe Certificate
- Food Specialist: Food handler's certificate
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children.
Pay: From $18.50 per hour
