Key Responsibilities:
- Accession, label, fix, and accurately process surgical pathology specimens according to established protocols.
- Verify specimen identification, evaluate specimen condition, and maintain specimen integrity throughout the grossing process.
- Prioritize tasks to enhance workflow efficiency and support timely specimen turnaround.
- Collaborate closely with clerical and laboratory staff to coordinate accessioning and resolve discrepancies.
- Perform routine quality audits and maintain compliance with all departmental standards.
- Maintain a clean and sterile working environment; ensure adequate supply levels and perform preventive maintenance on instruments according to manufacturer guidelines and lab policy.
- Demonstrate strong initiative by identifying tasks that need attention and assisting colleagues as needed.
- Communicate professionally and maintain positive working relationships with laboratory personnel, clinicians, and hospital staff.
- Comply with all laboratory and hospital safety policies; promptly report hazards and complete required safety trainings on time.
- Support adequate coverage across all shifts, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support laboratory operations and patient care.
Requirements:
- ASCP certification
- 2 years’ experience
- Maintaining instruments Experience
