What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inspector position at All Recycling Inc.?

Summary: Inspectors ensure that all material received into the yard adheres to the material acceptance policy. They also facilitate neat and orderly unloading of customers by directing traffic and communicating with equipment operators.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following.

  • Ensure all material unloaded adheres to the materials' acceptance policy.
  • Sign off on all tickets with correct scrap grading,
  • Document any upgrades, downgrades and deductions with pictures.
  • Park customers in a neat and orderly fashion to unload
  • Direct semis to the proper areas to unload and keep track of their order in line.
  • Communicate with heavy equipment operators pertaining to the unloading of customers.
  • Perform VIN verifications and complete titles for sales of whole vehicles.
  • Works well with others and is dependable; arrives on time and ready to work.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Education/Experience:

Less than high school education; or up to one-month related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability:

Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; work in high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
