Paint Prep Job Details

• Assist Lead Paint Technician in prepping vehicles for paint
• Specific job duties include but are not limited to: prepping panels, masking panels, block sanding, mixing primer, spraying primer, cut and buff, minimal bodywork, mixing paint and mixing clear coat
• Ensure that all paint operations are complete, all masking is removed and all prior paint-related disassembly has been reassembled prior to returning the vehicle to the body technician
• Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective repair
• Paint touch-up and chip repair· Perform minor cosmetic repairs and body damage repair· Headlight reconditioning· Dupont / Spies experience preferred but not required
• Perform other duties as assigned
  
  

Paint Prep Job Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time and must be able to walk, bend, push/pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach or crawl frequently
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Minimum 2 years Automotive paint experience
• Willing to submit to a pre-employment background check & drug screening.
• Willing to work in a fast paced environment with changing needs & priorities.
• Positive attitude.
  
  

Working Conditions

• Job duties are primarily performed in a garage or outdoor environment.
• Team-based work.
• Fast paced work environment.
• Occasionally exposed to hot, cold, wet or humid conditions
• Regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts
• Regularly exposed to fumes, airborne particles, and/or caustic chemicals - requires use of a respirator
• Moderate noise levels in this working environment
• May be required to work at other job sites within close proximity
