We are seeking a vigilant and responsible Flagger to ensure safety and smooth traffic flow at construction sites and roadwork zones. As a Flagger, you will play a vital role in directing vehicles and pedestrians, maintaining safety protocols, and supporting construction teams to complete projects efficiently. Responsibilities
- Direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic using standardized hand signals, signs, and flagging equipment to ensure safety for workers and the public
- Communicate clearly with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians to coordinate movements and prevent accidents
- Set up appropriate warning signs, barricades, cones, and safety devices before work begins
- Monitor the work zone continuously, adjusting traffic control measures as needed based on site conditions
- Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to site supervisors and emergency responders when necessary
- Assist with the setup and removal of traffic control devices in accordance with safety regulations
- Maintain a high level of visibility and alertness throughout shifts to prevent hazards or disruptions
Requirements
- Prior experience in construction or traffic control is preferred but not mandatory; training will be provided for qualified candidates
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods during shifts
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with team members and the public
- Knowledge of traffic control standards, including flagging procedures and safety protocols
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, or front loader trucks is a plus but not required
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety
- Valid certification in flagging or traffic control is advantageous; willingness to obtain certification if not already held
