The Opportunity:
The Accounting Manager will oversee the day-to-day accounting operations of All Points Broadband. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and timely month-end close, with a particular emphasis on construction, inventory, fixed assets, and capital expenditures.
Reporting directly to the Controller, the Accounting Manager will manage a small accounting team and serve as a hands-on technical resource, and partner closely with operations and finance leadership to support network buildouts, capital deployment, and disciplined growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting Operations & Close
- Manage and execute the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, particularly for construction, inventory, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Maintain audit-ready documentation and close checklists.
Construction, Inventory & Project Accounting
- Oversee accounting for FTTH network buildouts including CIP, capitalization, and depreciation.
- Ensure accurate tracking and valuation of fiber and electronics inventory.
- Partner with operations to validate project costs and capitalization timing.
Capital Expenditure Support & Forecasting
- Support CapEx forecasting and tracking versus budget.
- Monitor timing differences between cash spend, CIP, and placed-in-service assets.
- Assist with CapEx schedules for budgeting, lender, and investor reporting.
Team Leadership
- Manage and develop two Staff Accountants and oversee AP temp workflow.
- Assign work, set priorities, and ensure segregation of duties.
Accounts Payable Oversight
- Oversee AP processes including invoice coding, payments, and accruals.
- Monitor construction vendor accruals and cutoff.
Internal Controls & Audit
- Maintain internal controls over financial reporting.
- Prepare audit schedules and support internal and external audits.
- Assist with regulatory and grant-related reporting as applicable.
Systems & Process Improvement
- Serve as a key accounting user for the ERP system.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes.
Required Skills and Experience:
- 9–12 years of progressive accounting experience.
- 3–5 years of supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong construction, CIP, fixed asset, and inventory accounting experience.
- US GAAP expertise and full-cycle close experience.
- High degree of independence, accountability, and comfort partnering with cross-functional teams in a distributed environment
- Periodic travel to project sites or company locations may be required.
- ERP experience (Business Central preferred).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Organized, deadline-driven and audit-ready.
- Strong ability to use technical judgement and make sounds decisions.
Preferred:
- CPA or CPA-eligible.
- Telecom, broadband, utilities, or infrastructure experience.
- PE-backed or high-growth company experience.
- Grant-funded or regulated accounting exposure.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Accounting, Finance or relevant field, preferred.
