Simply: Looking for a person that is willing to find customers, dispatch, and vet out carriers make sure those carriers are delivering on time and we are servicing our customers. This person must have some experience doing these things, cannot be new in the industry. Schedule is flexible, but mostly full time Monday- Friday, it is hybrid but would like someone that is in person and possibly local. Someone that is hard working to find carrier generate there own leads case them, get those customers and deliver for them.
Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Freight Broker Agent to join our logistics team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between shippers and carriers, coordinating transportation solutions that meet client needs while ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of supply chain management, transportation logistics, and customer relationship management. Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to facilitate freight movement
- Negotiate rates, contracts, and service terms to optimize transportation costs and efficiency
- Manage transportation planning and dispatching activities using Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and other CRM software
- Coordinate freight logistics, including scheduling, tracking, and problem resolution
- Generate leads and expand client base through inside sales strategies and B2B outreach
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations such as FDA regulations when applicable
- Utilize data entry tools like EDI and AS400 for accurate documentation and communication
- Manage account portfolios by providing exceptional customer service and ongoing support
- Collaborate with 3PL providers, NVOCCs, carriers, and other stakeholders to streamline operations
- Monitor market trends to adjust pricing strategies accordingly and maximize profitability
Skills
- Strong knowledge of supply chain management, transportation management systems, and logistics sales
- Proven experience in B2B sales, account management, and freight brokerage operations
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to close deals effectively
- Familiarity with transportation planning, dispatching, and carrier sales processes
- Proficiency in CRM software, EDI systems, AS400, and other relevant technology tools
- Ability to manage contracts, pricing strategies, and lead generation activities
- Knowledge of FDA regulations as they pertain to transportation compliance (nice-to-have)
- Exceptional communication skills for building customer relationships and negotiating service agreements
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in data entry and documentation processes
