JANITOR JOB DESCRIPTION
The Janitor will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining building in a professional manner. He/She must be dependable and perform their duties with pride and little to no supervision.
JOB DUTIES:
- Performs general cleaning and janitorial duties in the common areas of the building.
- Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them.
- Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms: toilets, sinks, mirrors, floors
- Dust furniture, walls, machines, and equipment.
- Maintains a neat and orderly janitors’ room; ensures cleaning and maintenance supplies are stocked.
- Wash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap, paper towel, etc.)
- Wipe mirrors.
- Washes windows.
- Empty trash
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must pass a background check.
OTHER DUTIES:
- Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
- Detail-oriented and thorough.
- Must be able to work independently
- Ability to keep the assigned areas clean and orderly.
- Ability to interact with staff while remaining professional, polite, and courteous.
- Experience in use of scrubbing/buffing floors is a plus
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:
- Prolonged periods standing.
- Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift at least 20 pounds at a time.
