Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Asphalt Paving Machine Operator to join our civil infrastructure team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating heavy paving equipment to lay asphalt surfaces efficiently and safely. Your expertise will help ensure high-quality paving projects that meet industry standards and safety regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate asphalt paving machines, including screeds and other paving equipment, to lay asphalt surfaces according to project specifications.
- Maintain and perform routine inspections and minor repairs on paving equipment, ensuring optimal performance throughout the project.
- Assist with the preparation of construction sites by coordinating with crew members on concrete forming, rebar installation, and concrete pumping as needed.
- Follow safety regulations and protocols diligently, including adherence to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and site-specific safety procedures.
- Use basic math skills for measurements, grade adjustments, and material calculations to ensure precise paving results.
- Support the operation of loaders, concrete mixers, and other heavy equipment required on the site for efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with team members on construction site activities related to asphalt paving, concrete work, and general civil infrastructure tasks.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating paving equipment such as screeds, pavers, and other heavy machinery in a construction or civil infrastructure setting.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform basic equipment maintenance and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with asphalt materials, concrete work, concrete forming, rebar installation, and concrete pumping processes.
- Knowledge of construction machinery maintenance practices and safety regulations applicable to heavy equipment operation.
- Valid commercial truck driving license or experience with commercial vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to work on construction projects in a civil infrastructure environment while adhering to safety protocol standards.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to paving operations.
- Experience working on construction sites with a focus on asphalt paving or similar civil projects is highly desirable.
