Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and reliable Fleet Upfitting Technician to join our growing team in Fort Worth, TX. This person will be responsible for installing, wiring, mounting, and assembling all components and accessories on fleet and commercial trucks and vans. The ideal candidate has solid mechanical and electrical experience in the truck upfitting or equipment installation industry and takes pride in doing the job right the first time.
Responsibilities
- Install commercial truck equipment including service bodies, cranes, lift gates, ladder racks, van packages, tool boxes, compressors, and lighting systems.
- Perform electrical wiring for lighting, strobes, inverters, and power equipment.
- Mount hydraulic systems and connect hoses and fittings as needed.
- Read and follow work orders, blueprints, and installation diagrams.
- Ensure all components are installed to manufacturer and company specifications.
- Use power tools, hand tools, and fabrication equipment safely and effectively.
- Communicate with supervisors and quality control personnel regarding progress and issues.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Qualifications
- Experience in truck upfitting, fleet equipment installation, or commercial vehicle builds is required.
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills.
- Ability to read diagrams, follow instructions, and problem-solve on the job.
- Experience with hydraulic and 12V systems preferred.
- Must have your own basic tools.
- Team-oriented with good communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Compensation
- Starting at $20/hour, and could go up from there based on experience.
- Full-time position with steady work and growth opportunities.
