President/GM

All Occasion Tent Rental
Indianapolis, IN Full Time
POSTED ON 9/26/2025
AVAILABLE BEFORE 11/21/2025

We are seeking a GM/President to lead the company into its next phase of growth, operational maturity, and long-term sustainability—with a potential pathway toward future ownership or operator transition. This role is designed for a strategic thinker and hands-on leader who thrives in diagnosing root issues within a business, developing solutions, and building high-performance teams.

Rather than managing the day-to-day operations directly, this leader will identify the company’s most pressing operational pain points, design and implement solutions, and move on to the next area of opportunity. This role is ideal for a process-minded executive with an entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to build a business that operates independently and scales sustainably.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Problem Solving: Continuously identify the highest-leverage operational and organizational pain points. Develop system-level solutions to address inefficiencies, gaps, or bottlenecks across departments.
  • Organizational Development: Build and reinforce a high-performing culture based on ownership, accountability, and operational excellence. Ensure the right people are in the right roles and supported with the right tools.
  • Leadership & Team Enablement: Inspire and coach departmental leaders across operations, logistics, customer experience, and administration. Empower teams to make decisions, solve problems, and own their outcomes.
  • Process & Systems Implementation: Create scalable systems and repeatable processes that improve quality, efficiency, and customer experience. Ensure that core functions can operate independently of any one person.
  • Financial Stewardship: Monitor the financial health of the business. Identify opportunities to improve margins, control costs, and build long-term enterprise value.
  • Vision Execution: Translate the long-term vision of the company into actionable priorities. Lead strategic initiatives and change efforts to support growth, succession, or acquisition readiness.
  • Customer-Centric Improvements: Ensure customer satisfaction by eliminating service inconsistencies and enhancing the customer journey through operational excellence.
  • Industry-Specific Leadership: Understand the unique operational needs of a tent rental company, including logistics, weather planning, inventory cycles, and installation standards.
  • Support Guest Experience: Occasionally step in to support the guest experience, especially during high-volume seasons or when resolving escalated customer issues, ensuring events meet or exceed expectations.
  • Cross-Departmental Support: Provide strategic guidance and hands-on support to the marketing, sales, and operations teams—helping align efforts, identify roadblocks, and ensure unified execution across functions.

Goals:

  • Resolution of top 3–5 operational bottlenecks annually, with measurable improvements in efficiency, cost, or team capacity
  • Development of an empowered leadership team capable of managing day-to-day functions autonomously
  • Documented, repeatable systems for all core business functions
  • Improved profitability and cost control without sacrificing service quality
  • High employee engagement, low turnover, and a clearly defined culture of accountability and growth

Qualifications

  • Must have experience running events or vendor driven businesses with rental components. Experience in tent rentals will be a significant benefit in this position.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, ideally in a small to mid-sized, operations-heavy business
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with a systems-thinking approach
  • Ability to identify root causes and design solutions that scale
  • Financial literacy and experience with P&L management, budgeting, and strategic planning
  • Demonstrated ability to build and mentor high-performing teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a long-term view on value creation and business building
  • Valid driver’s license required
