What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vice President Surgical Services position at All Med Search?
A Vice President of Surgical Services is sought for a 422-bed, Magnet-designated hospital in Denver, CO — a recognized leader in comprehensive women's services, orthopedics and total joint replacement, heart and vascular care, bariatric surgery, sports medicine, and aesthetic surgery.
The role. Reporting to the hospital COO, this executive leads a surgical services division of approximately 125 FTEs across 23 operating rooms in two locations, supported by a Director of Surgical Services and three managers. The VP drives strategic planning and business development for the service line — identifying new service offerings, technology advances, and market opportunities to differentiate the program, with a primary elective outpatient focus spanning bariatrics, orthopedics, GYN, plastics, and reconstruction. The role owns clinical quality, directing the adoption of evidence-based practices, patient safety initiatives, and throughput strategies including capacity planning, volume forecasting, and admission/discharge coordination across a volume of approximately 750 surgeries per month. Financial stewardship is central: the VP develops operating and capital budgets, prioritizes capital equipment, manages variable costs and labor productivity, and addresses performance gaps. The VP also cultivates physician alignment and builds referral networks that strengthen the service line's competitive position in the market.
