Duties
- Operate plastic manufacturing equipment such as plastics shredding machines, grinding machines, conveyors, and forklifts.
- Set up machinery according to specifications, including adjusting parameters for optimal performance and ensuring proper calibration.
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues or engineering problems with industrial equipment, applying troubleshooting techniques to minimize downtime and maintain continuous production flow.
- Handle materials safely and efficiently, utilizing forklifts and other warehouse equipment for materials handling and fabrication tasks while adhering strictly to safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on machinery, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts to ensure longevity and reliable operation.
- Document production data, machine performance logs, and quality reports accurately for process improvement and compliance purposes.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating plastic equipment.
- Skilled in precision measurement techniques using calipers, micrometers, digital measurement devices, and other precision measuring instruments for quality control purposes.
- Knowledge of plastics production processes including blow molding, injection molding, extrusion, and fabrication methods.
- Ability to identify plastic material types.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications for assembly and machining tasks while maintaining dimensional accuracy.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow efficiency and reduce waste.
- Warehouse experience including materials handling with forklifts; capable of safely operating hand tools for fabrication or minor repairs.
- Basic math skills for calculating measurements, tolerances, material quantities, and process adjustments.
- Excellent safety protocol adherence combined with engineering troubleshooting skills to resolve industrial equipment issues swiftly.
