Position Summary
Eagle Materials’ Internal Audit team has an immediate opening for a Senior Internal Auditor to join our team. The role assists IA in completing our annual audit plan, including performing SOX, financial and operational audits, as well as risk-based special projects.
The Candidate must demonstrate a confident and well-developed communication style, both oral and written, that establishes credibility and facilitates clear understanding of audit risks, and identification and assessment of processes in place to mitigate risks.
The Senior Internal Auditor role requires oversight and review of our outsourced SOX resource firm. The role also allows for advancement potential within IA and the company.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required (Accounting or Business Administration).
- Eligible to pursue Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) accreditation
- 3-5 years of internal auditing, general accounting public accounting or equivalent relevant experience required
- Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (SOX) testing experience
- Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to travel up to 20%, domestically
- Work from Home flexibility (approximately 50%)
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the US to apply for this position

- An independent self-starter with a professional image and manner, strong work ethic, high degree of motivation, and the ability to collaborate and integrate within a team environment.
- Complete testing on assigned areas utilizing knowledge of basic accounting principles, auditing standards, business processes, Company policies, and relevant regulatory rules and regulations.
- Document work performed to support observations and conclusions utilizing established documentation protocol. Prepare exception summary and assist with the preparation and/or review of draft audit reports when requested. Respond accordingly to supervisor review and feedback.
- Exhibit initiative and creative problem-solving abilities.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Computer proficiency
- Oracle Fusion ERP experience is a plus
