2nd shift; 2:30 pm to 11:30 pm
Starting pay, $22.46/hr.
2nd shift will receive an additional shift-diff, $1.25/hr.
JOB SUMMARY:
A quarry utility worker performs diverse tasks, operating light and heavy equipment, loading and transporting materials, and conducting routine maintenance on machinery and facilities to support quarry operations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Physical ability to climb, lift, bend, and work in diverse outdoor conditions, hot, cold, wet, snow, ice, and rain.
- Comfortable working at heights and in water or wet environments.
- Be adaptable and willing to learn and expand skill set through cross-training in other maintenance tasks and roles.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth and safe operations.
- Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds, often in awkward positions or on elevated surfaces and/or help lift 50 pounds above head.
- Help with Plant Maintenance and clean coal from barges.
- Be able to shovel material for extended periods of time.
- Assist with setting up and maintaining work areas, roadways, and safety barriers within the quarry.
- Be willing to learn to operate other mobile and crushing equipment on-site and other forms of equipment as well as other tasks associated with mining operation.
- Familiarity with heavy machinery, industrial maintenance or public works can be beneficial, but not required. Training will be provided.
- Understand the importance of conducting safety checks, maintaining a clean and safe work environment, follow established safety protocols, MSHA regulations, and company policies.
- Applicant to be safety-oriented, self-motivated, with strong work ethic.
- Always prioritize safety, promoting a "Safety First" culture.
- Obtaining and maintaining MSHA training for working in quarry/open pit environment, following all Federal MSHA regulations while working on mine site.
- Must be capable of using 3 points of contact when climbing up and down ladder to enter and exit cab: Frequently
- Be able to demonstrate basic controls and safe operation of equipment. Perform work site inspections prior to and after work is completed. Work safely with other team members and ability to recognize and report hazards.
