Duties

• Greet guests warmly and provide attentive guest services throughout the event
• Assist with food handling, serving, and food preparation to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Set up event spaces, including arranging tables, linens, and serving stations for optimal presentation
• Serve food and beverages efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and guest relations
• Buss tables, clear dishes, and support cleanup efforts to keep the venue tidy and organized
• Follow food safety protocols diligently during food handling and service activities
• Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless event execution from start to finish

Experience

• Prior experience in the food industry or hospitality is highly preferred, especially in catering or banquet settings
• Culinary experience or restaurant experience will be advantageous for understanding food presentation and service standards
• Demonstrated guest services skills with a focus on hospitality and guest relations
• Knowledge of food safety practices, food handling, and proper serving techniques
• Experience with food preparation or coffee service is a plus but not required
• Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments while maintaining a positive attitude
• Previous roles involving bussing, food service, or hotel experience are beneficial for success in this position

We are seeking an energetic, reliable, and detail-oriented Kitchen Prep Assistant to join our growing team in Summerville, SC.

This is a flexible, event-based position with excellent potential to transition into consistent part-time hours as our operations continue to expand. In this role, you will be a vital part of our back-of-house operations, ensuring our fresh ingredients are perfectly prepared and our kitchen environment remains immaculate. Key Responsibilities

Station Sanitation: Clean and sanitize your designated work station, tools, and cutting boards continuously throughout your shift as applicable.

Policy & Safety Compliance: Strictly adhere to all kitchen policies, local health department guidelines, food safety protocols, and safe knife-handling practices.

Job Requirements & Qualifications

Location/Reliability: Must have dependable transportation to our kitchen or event locations in the Summerville/Lowcountry area and strict adherence to schedules.

Physical Stamina: Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds frequently (moving ingredient crates, pots, and supplies) and stand or walk for long periods of time in a kitchen environment.

Core Soft Skills: Must be flexible, a quick thinker, a natural problem solver, and capable of working efficiently under tight event timelines.

Composure & Discipline: A level-headed demeanor is required. You must be able to stay perfectly calm, focused, and organized under the pressure of a live event kitchen.

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
