Job Summary
This position plays a vital role in creating and maintaining a safe and healthy environment for our community's youngest members! Your attention to detail will ensure that our students remain healthy and our facility remains clean and welcoming. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to contribute to an early childhood learning environment and gain experience in a childcare setting with kids from 6 weeks to 11 years old. Your responsibilities will include preparing and serving nutritious meals and snacks, documenting and tracking inventory and menu changes, cleaning and organizing the kitchen area, and cleaning and restocking restrooms and common/shared spaces.
Duties
- Prepare and serve healthy snacks and meals in accordance with dietary guidelines for children (national, state, local, and center-specific)
- Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and organizing supplies
- Ensure all cleaning duties are performed efficiently to uphold health and safety standards within the center
- Assist with classroom and restroom sanitation routines such as disinfecting toys, tables, play areas, and restroom equipment regularly
- Follow proper food handling procedures and document cleaning schedules as required
- Help monitor children during meals and snack times to promote good hygiene practices
Skills
- Strong attention to detail in cleaning routines and food safety protocols
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage positively with children and parents
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with childcare, preschool environments, or early childhood education preferred
- Knowledge of childhood development principles and age-appropriate hygiene practices
- Ability to work effectively with children of various ages, including infants, toddlers, and preschoolers
- Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification or training in first aid and CPR is highly desirable

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
