Your Role: FSP Parent Partner

Location: Long Beach

Pay: $22.11/Hourly

Your Toolkit Should Include:

• Experience as a biological or adoptive parent of a child with special needs
• High school diploma or GED
• Previous experience or involvement with Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, Child and Family Services, or Probation preferred/required
• Must not have an open probation case for at least one year
• Valid California driver's license
• Bilingual Spanish: able to speak, read, and write Spanish
• Strong understanding of community resources, county agencies, and systems that support children and families
• Ability to communicate effectively with families, children, staff, providers, and community partners
• Professional, positive, proactive, and team-oriented approach
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
• Flexible and comfortable working a varied schedule

Your Superpowers Include:

• Use your lived experience as a parent to provide encouragement, understanding, and peer support to caregivers
• Help families feel welcomed, heard, and engaged throughout the FSP process
• Support caregivers in developing effective communication skills and navigating child-serving systems
• Partner with the Therapist and Case Manager to address parent and family concerns and strengthen family engagement
• Participate in Child and Family Team Meetings and help ensure the family's voice is represented
• Provide education and support around community resources, county agencies, services, and family needs
• Assist caregivers in understanding and participating in their child's treatment and Crisis Response Plan
• Provide support to caregivers during challenging situations and assist with problem-solving in collaboration with the Therapist
• Develop and facilitate parent advocacy and education opportunities that build caregiver confidence and knowledge
• Support families with strategies that promote positive behavioral outcomes and family stability
• Help identify family needs and provide recommendations regarding flex funds and community resources
• Complete Outcome Measure Applications (OMA) with caregivers and maintain the required schedule
• Collaborate with the FSP team to coordinate services and strengthen connections between families and providers
• Complete required documentation and progress notes within 24 hours
• Maintain approximately 25% billable service delivery (10 hours per week)
• Participate in trainings, team activities, and the development and ongoing support of the FSP Advisory Board
• Follow mandated reporting requirements and agency policies while helping create a safe, supportive environment for children and families
