Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical team member to support inventory planning, product replenishment, procurement, and item setup activities. This role is responsible for reviewing sales trends, inventory levels, and product demand to help maintain balanced inventory by avoiding shortages and overstock. This position is responsible for procuring inventory for assigned suppliers, creating new items, and supporting product availability for the sales team and customers.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred in a business-related field.
  • Work experience in the procurement/supply chain industry or in general business.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze sales history, usage trends, and purchasing data to support buying decisions.
  • Procure inventory for assigned suppliers effectively and in a timely manner.
  • Generate and submit purchase orders based on demand, usage trends, and forecasted needs.
  • Track open purchase orders and follow up on confirmations, delays, and shortages.
  • Manage supplier order confirmations to ensure purchase orders are received, acknowledged, and processed on time.
  • Consistently follow up on inbound purchase orders to ensure products are shipping and arriving on time.
  • Proactively communicate with the Sales Team to verify new demand trends, or provide relevant product information such as newly available products, possible delays in the arrival of key products, etc.
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish products to avoid shortages or overstock.
  • Identify slow-moving or excess inventory and implement corrective action.
  • Resolve purchasing and supply issues to maintain product availability.
  • Obtain supplier quotes, evaluate costs, negotiate optimum delivery schedules, and ensure the best combination of price, quantity discount, product quality, and standard terms and conditions.
  • Review and monitor supplier lead times regularly to ensure orders are received within expected timeframes.
  • Collect and verify product specifications from suppliers including pack sizes UPC codes and dimensions to accurately create and set up new SKUs.
  • Process substitutions, discontinued items, and item changes.
  • Prepare inventory and purchasing reports.
  • Other responsibilities are assigned as necessary.


Skills

  • Strong mental math skills with the ability to quickly calculate approximate averages are important to support learning inventory planning and forecasting concepts.
  • Intermediate excel skills required.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills with the capacity to work effectively with internal teams.
  • Effective negotiation skills to handle pricing, delivery, and service discussions.
  • Keen attention to detail to identify issues early on.
  • Has follow-up skills and a sense of urgency in resolving issues.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the initiative to act and prevent disruptions.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills with the discipline to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, dependable, and proactive.
  • Dedicated work ethic with the drive to get the job done.
  • Must be fluent in both English and Spanish.
