Maintenance Supervisor – Printed Circuit Manufacturing

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees the maintenance and repair of production equipment, utilities, and facilities within a printed circuit manufacturing environment. This role ensures maximum equipment uptime, safety compliance, and operational efficiency while leading a team of maintenance technicians. The Maintenance Supervisor is also responsible for planning preventive maintenance, supporting process improvements, and maintaining compliance with environmental and facility standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and coordinate the daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure all production and facility equipment operate efficiently and safely.
  • Oversee maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment used in printed circuit board (PCB) processes, including plating lines, etchers, laminators, ovens, vacuum presses, exposure units, and drill/route machines.
  • Maintain and manage preventative and predictive maintenance programs to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and plumbing systems associated with production equipment and facility infrastructure.
  • Support the installation, relocation, and qualification of new equipment and process lines.
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve equipment and process issues quickly and effectively.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and chemical handling regulations (EPA, OSHA, and local standards).
  • Manage maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory through the CMMS system.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities and ensure team training and compliance.
  • Participate in capital project planning and provide technical input on equipment purchases and upgrades.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement, reliability, and preventive maintenance within the maintenance team.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent hands-on experience).
  • 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in printed circuit manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • 2 years of supervisory or lead maintenance experience.
  • Strong working knowledge of wet process equipment, chemical handling systems, vacuum and air systems, HVAC, and PLC/HMI-controlled machinery.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance systems and CMMS software.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and process diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Understanding of facility systems such as compressed air, DI water, and wastewater treatment is a plus.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and chemicals (proper PPE provided).
  • Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, or on-call as needed.

We offer a competitive hourly rate in the $40 to $45 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with annual bonus and profit-sharing opportunities tied to performance.
