Caregiver Personal Care Assistant

Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality caregiving services to individuals in private homes, independent living facilities. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for clients by delivering personalized care with professionalism and empathy. This role offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, dementia care, etc.

Duties

• Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
• Provide medication reminders and administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
• Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in condition
• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences
• Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts; assist with transfers safely
• Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and infection control practices
• Assist with light cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and comfort
• Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being
• Follow individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers
• Document care activities accurately while respecting patient privacy and confidentiality laws

Skills

• Preferred experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
• Knowledge of Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and hospice care needs
• Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance preferred
• Ability to monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or deterioration in condition
• Strong patient observation skills with the ability to document findings accurately
• Experience working with specialized populations such as seniors or individuals with disabilities
• Ability to assist with heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts
• Compassionate communication skills; patience and empathy are essential when working with vulnerable populations
• Basic cooking skills for meal preparation aligned with dietary requirements
• Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and social work principles is advantageous
• Flexibility to work various shifts including long shifts; reliable transportation may be required for home visits

Pay: $12.77 - $14.00 per hour
