Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants to provide high-quality caregiving services to individuals in private homes, independent living facilities. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide medication reminders and administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations
- Monitor and record vital signs, patient observations, and changes in condition
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and preferences
- Support clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts; assist with transfers safely
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and infection control practices
- Assist with light cleaning tasks to promote hygiene and comfort
- Engage clients in social activities and companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers
- Document care activities accurately while respecting patient privacy and confidentiality laws
Skills
- Preferred experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or long-term care environments
- Knowledge of Alzheimer’s, dementia, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and hospice care needs
- Certification in First Aid and CPR preferred; additional certifications such as HIPAA compliance preferred
- Ability to monitor vital signs and recognize signs of medical emergencies or deterioration in condition
- Strong patient observation skills with the ability to document findings accurately
- Experience working with specialized populations such as seniors or individuals with disabilities
- Ability to assist with heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids like Hoyer lifts
- Compassionate communication skills; patience and empathy are essential when working with vulnerable populations
- Basic cooking skills for meal preparation aligned with dietary requirements
- Familiarity with care plans, medication administration, patient monitoring, and social work principles is advantageous
- Flexibility to work various shifts including long shifts; reliable transportation may be required for home visits
