Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Hospice Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide high-quality nursing care to patients in hospice settings, ensuring comfort and dignity during their end-of-life journey. You will work closely with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care that meets the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of those you serve.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, including IV infusion and catheter care.
- Provide pain management and acute care interventions to enhance patient comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families about end-of-life issues, symptom management, and available resources.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Monitor vital signs and perform necessary medical procedures such as venipuncture and specimen collection.
- Support families through bereavement by providing emotional support and resources.
Experience
Candidates should possess a strong background in nursing with experience in various healthcare settings. Preferred qualifications include:
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Experience in hospice & palliative medicine or long-term care settings.
- Familiarity with critical care environments including ICU or Level I/II trauma centers.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), and case management principles.
- Skills in patient assessment, medication administration, and basic life support.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities. Ideal candidates will demonstrate a commitment to providing exceptional patient-centered care while navigating the complexities of end-of-life issues.
Pay: From $60.00 per hour
