Overview
As a Home Health Aide, you will play a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes or community settings. Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status
- Administer medications as prescribed and ensure proper medication management
- Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Support clients with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care techniques
- Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual needs
- Provide hospice care and support for clients with terminal illnesses
Skills
- Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in health status
- Experience in assisted living or nursing home environments
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for medical documentation
- Knowledge of medical terminology and vital sign monitoring
- CPR certification and experience with catheter care preferred
- Compassionate caregiving skills for working with individuals with developmental disabilities or long-term care needs
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals while considering dietary restrictions
- Proficiency in cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
