Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. As a Kennel Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing care and support for our furry friends. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with a passion for animals and a desire to work in a veterinary or pet care setting.
Duties:
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, and administering medications as directed by veterinary staff
- Clean and maintain kennels, ensuring a safe and sanitary environment for the animals
- Walk dogs and provide exercise and socialization
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to veterinary staff
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trims
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations or procedures
- Maintain accurate records of animal care and behavior
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pet sitting, dog handling, or veterinary settings is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with pet owners
- Ability to handle animals of various sizes and temperaments with confidence and compassion
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) and stand or walk for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of basic pet care practices and understanding of animal behavior
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant is a plus
